Director of Bands

Christian Stephanos has been involved in music and the marching arts for nearly two decades as a member, educator, and designer. Originally from Kennesaw, Georgia, Mr. Stephanos is a graduate of Harrison High School and attended Georgia State University where he received his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees. While at Georgia State, Mr. Stephanos was a charter member of the Georgia State University Panther Band where he was a featured soloist, performed in President Barack Obama’s 2nd Inaugural Parade, and performed for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2014. Upon his return to GSU for his masters degree, he worked as a graduate assistant with the GSU Panther Band and Panther Basketball Band.
Mr. Stephanos began his drum corps career in 2010 as a member of ALLIANCE Drum and Bugle Corps, and in the summers of 2012 and 2013, he was a member of the 10-time World Champion Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps, where he marched baritone until he aged out in 2013.
As an educator and designer, Mr. Stephanos has taught and designed for numerous groups in the southeast and midwest including The Wesleyan School, Harrison High School, Kell High School, Q2 Indoor drum line, and many others. He was most recently the visual caption head and brass pedagogy instructor for the award-winning East Coweta High School Marching Band, and the visual caption head and visual designer for the Southern Knights Drum and Bugle Corps located in Birmingham, Alabama. He is currently on the visual staff of the Seattle Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps
Mr. Stephanos moved to Kenai with his dog, Jack, in July 2020 and still regularly performs and designs. He is also one of Kenai Central’s baseball coaches. When not working, Mr. Stephanos loves getting outdoors and watching all things Atlanta sports.
